And now, just because it's August, another wedding!

JP and I tempted the rain gods this weekend and attended an outdoor wedding for a good family friend of ours!

It was risky, but it paid off, because the wedding was beautiful and the rain held off until right at the very end. Not to mention the clouds made for a really gorgeous sunset!
(you'll see below, it was amazing)

The bride and groom (Sarah and David) looked lovely and so so happy. Combine that with a photo booth and a crepe bar and we had ourselves a fabulous time at their reception!

^^^ This is my little cousin Jane. We're best friends.

Crawdad Fishing!

This year we continued our tradition and headed up to Strawberry Reservoir to spend the morning catching crawdads!
Remember when we did this last year??

This time there was less rain and more people invited to the feast, which meant we had a quota to fill!
Luckily the crawdads haven't wised up over the years and armed with raw chicken legs on fishing poles we were able to catch more than enough haha.

 ^^^ Beautiful Utah scenery!
One of the things I learned this Summer after traveling across the world and up and around an entire continent, is to appreciate the beauty that I'm surrounded by here at home!
There really is nothing like it.

 ^^^ Trying to escape, unsuccessfully.

^^^ Kissing Crawdads!

The Feast!

^^^ Boiled Crawdads turn a lovely red color, as you can see haha

Back in the Wedding Business!

JP and I attended our first wedding since we got back and it was the best!
That was something I really missed while in Europe, attending all the summer weddings! We got to catch up with lots of friends who we hadn't seen all summer and obviously spent some quality time out on the dance floor.
(I still can't believe JP has turned me into someone who enjoys dancing! I'm absolutely terrible, but dancing with him is just so much fun!)

This wedding was for some of my old high school friends, and it was even more fun because it was at the same venue where I had my reception (almost 2 whole years ago - CRAZY!) and I love seeing how other people decorate it for their wedding!

PS- The bride's dress was gorgeous! It was one of the most unique dresses I've ever seen but looked absolutely fabulous on her!

^^^ handsome handsome handsome!

^^^ They served root beer floats and orange juice floats!

Concrete Jungle

We finally made it home to Utah!
After 13 flights (no baggage lost and only 1 flight was delayed!), 8 countries, and 2 months we made it into Provo late Saturday night (has it really been almost a week?! Time is FLYING) and ever since then it has been a whirlwind of getting unpacked, seeing family and lots of movies, hanging out with friends, going back to work, and getting ready for school to start.
You know, real life kind of stuff.
Which I'm not unhappy about.
I happen to enjoy my real life quite a bit! :)

However, I've been going through the pictures from our European Adventure (that name seems to sum it up pretty well haha) and my goodness, we were certainly lucky to be able to do that. I'm so grateful that the timing worked out and that I was taught to save money from a young age (for real, I think that's the first thing I remember learning haha) so that JP and I could have this experience together!
And because I completely agree with Audrey Hepburn when she said "Paris is always a good idea."

However, I have one more post of our trip! The very last stop was in New York City
There is nothing quite like New York. And you know what it is? It's the buildings, the people, the park, the food, the hustle and bustle, the taxis (so many taxis!), and it all blends together to make this wonderful place that feels and lives and breathes like nowhere else you've ever been.
It's vibrant and beautiful and makes you stay out late so you can walk through Times Square after midnight and feel like you're a part of the city.
It makes you want to buy banana pudding from Magnolia's Bakery and eat it next to Bethesda Fountain (Friends, anyone?)
It makes you want to eat pizza everyday and see broadway shows and get your makeup done at Saks 5th Avenue, because all of those things are absolute necessities right?
As is visiting Doughnut Plant for NY's best donuts and Clinton St. Bakery for NY's best pancakes (right in a row, mind you).

Basically, this last little stop of our summer trip was absolutely perfect.
