Happy Leap Day!

I was so excited for Leap Day!
It only comes around once every four years people, four years!
We get a whole extra day in our lives this year, what did you do with it?!

Personally I left class early because that was the last place I wanted to spend my Leap Day, and had a lovely two-hour chat with my fellow class-ditcher Rachel. And then I went and fulfilled my TAing duties (a little responsibility was probably a good idea) Then tonight I had a waffle party. And watched 'Modern Family'

Homework? That can wait til tomorrow. Today is Leap Day!

[When in doubt, make a fool of yourself. There is a microscopically thin line between being brilliantly creative and acting like the most gigantic idiot on earth. So what the hell, leap.]

Love Regina

Regina Spektor finally recorded an official version of this song and released it as a single today!
Don't worry, it's been on repeat. Love my Regina.

The Best Sunday of the Year!

 I looooove the Oscars.
My little brother and I watch them together every year and the past few years it has turned into quite a party!
Everyone fills out ballots guessing who is going to win each category and whoever gets the most right is hailed as the Oscar King (okay not really... but they usually get a prize of some sort).
The dresses this year were fabulous; some of my favorites were Kristin Wiig, Berenice Bejo, and Livia Giuggioli's.
I also have a whole list of movies I need to see now, and can we talk about how great Meryl Streep's acceptance speech was?!

Is There Something in the Water?

4
of my good friends from my London study abroad got engaged this last week...

Four!
How crazy is that?

And three of them on the same night!
I really think there is something in the water...
And can you say quadruple engagement party?!

I have been a bit party-deprived lately! It seems there aren't as many occasions for parties at the beginning of the year, so I can't wait!

I am just beyond ecstatic for them.

Congrats Meegan Morgan Molly and Devri!!!

Me and Meegs:

An Anniversary Breakfast

It's been 6 months to the day since I got married! It's really unbelievable how fast the time has gone by. On one hand it seems like yesterday we were just dating, and on the other hand I can't remember not be married to Mr JP. That's probably a good sign right? I definitely know that these 6 months have been the best of my life, so what better way to commemorate the occasion than with chocolate chip waffles and ice cream for breakfast?

A Little Self Discovery

Which Wich is at the top of my favorite-sandwich-shop list (sorry Firehouse...)

I have an inability to turn down free cinnamon rolls (but lets be honest, who doesn't?)

I can wake up, get dressed, brush my teeth, and be out the door in under 4 minutes if the situation calls for it. Awesome, I know.

I don't drink enough water. And my theory that Dr Pepper hydrates you is definitely wrong haha.

I learned what to do when you get in a car accident.

I also found out that taking 4-hour naps sends me right into a terrible mood.

and this isn't really a discovery about myself, but while looking through Mr JP's sock drawer (I steal his socks because they are way warmer than mine, one of the many perks I've found of being married)
I found these beauties:

Who knew the love for his home country extended even to his footwear?
:)

Happy Weekend!

Some Valentine Snippets

for her:
- a homemade candlelit dinner
- a dozen colorful roses
- the queen's umbrella

for him:
- hidden valentine's throughout the day
- a handmade satchel for law school
- possibly the happiest wife in the world

Although I do believe Mr. JP did a far better job spoiling me than I did him, yesterday was quite perfect in every way.

... especially if we can just forget the fact that my car got rear-ended while I was on my way to school and Mr. JP had to come rescue his helpless wife who discovered she has no idea what to do in those type of situations...

Don't Go Breaking My Heart

This past weekend we decided to continue the one-year-old tradition of making heart shaped pizza's for Valentine's day.

Last year's date was quite successful if you ask me: 9 couples came and 5 of them ended up getting married to each other!
This year was a bit more low key, but I absolutely loved it that way.
Cooking with Mr. JP always makes me laugh, because he is very serious about his food; I was hardly allowed to touch our pizza!
We also have completely different tastes so our pizza was split right down the middle haha.

We matched. Not even planned.

Hope your Valentine's Day is lovely!

Congratulations are in order...

My cousin Will proposed to his lovely [now] fiancee Eliza on Friday!

They are possibly the cutest couple I know, and if you ask anyone, this proposal has been a long time coming haha
I am just ecstatic for them!
Congrats Will and Eliza!!

Superbowl XLVI

I love the superbowl for five reasons:

1) the food
2) the party
3) the commercials (although I was disappointed this year!)
4) the halftime show (love me some Nicki Minaj)
5) the potential scandals that occur during the halftime show (wasn't disappointed this year, thanks MIA!)

I really don't understand football all that well so I have very little interest in watching the actual game haha.
Also, it's strange to think that when we watched the superbowl last year, JP and I weren't married! It's amazing how much things have changed!

Who do you think is the bigger fan?
Mary...
 ...or me?

Midterm Mayhem

Midterms are OVER!

I mean, I still have two tests this next week, but two compared to five?! Piece of cake.
I heard through the grapevine that people were waiting in line at the testing center last night for over 45 minutes!
(what does it say about me that my juicy gossip is about lines at the testing center? ... don't answer that...)

Here are some little things that kept me going during these last six days:

This wedding is beyond gorgeous. And so so cool.

This video = hilarious.

I also discovered my new favorite online shopping site.

I'm super excited about the Valentines Day present I decided on for Mr. JP.  (It's coming from India!)
But I can't show what it is yet because I don't want him to see it.

Tumbling around this tumblr... and this tumblr...

This guy, of course:

Oh and can we talk about how good this stuff is??

Walmart: 1 Grace: 0

Last night at about midnight, Jean Paul decided that we really needed to buy Giants' shirts to watch the Superbowl.  So off we went to Walmart!

Strike one: Walmart doesn't carry any NFL paraphernalia
Strike two: They have also stopped carrying Yoo-hoo's
Strike three: I stepped in someone's vomit on the way out
{see below}

So we came to the conclusion that the only way to salvage our little outing was with a trip to In-n-Out.

Go Giants!

Firehouse Subs

It's just one of those weeks.

Last week, I made dinner 4 times (What? You think I deserve a medal? Me too.)
And this week it seems I am lucky if I remember to eat dinner haha.
So last night, not wanting to break the streak and heat the stove up, we went out!
To Firehouse Subs to be exact.
I've been wanting to try it for a while and it definitely didn't disappoint.
(the Haagan Das shake from Smash Burger I had for dessert didn't disappoint either...shh)

Oh and um, the hats aren't just for kids...
